Do you know the difference between a piece of wire and a transmission line? Well many installers don't either.
Computer data cables, TV cables, and video cables are all transmission lines. AC power wires, and most security sensor wires don't matter if that are pulled roughly or twisted. If a transmission line gets twisted or pulled too roughly, it becomes damaged. A damaged cable distorts the data, TV or video signal.
It is easy to see distortion on the TV or camera monitor. But when it comes to computer data, it is not so easy to see. However you will wonder why you are having problems with the Internet or you network printer. You'll blame a virus or your ISP. Some times it works and other times it doesn't. The list of problem goes on.
Then there are problems caused just by placing cables too close to things that induce interference into the cable.
